At 6’9” 220 lbs., what separates Orion from other Power Forwards from The 2013 NBA Draft Class are his length, athleticism and versatility as a scorer, inside and out. Orion is also a strong on-ball and weak-side shot-blocker. Orion played his college ball at The University of Rhode Island, where as a Senior (2011-12), he averaged 12.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Orion was one of the leading shot-blockers in the A-10 conference, averaging 1.8 per game. His best game of the season came against UMASS, when he had a season-high 29 points (11-17 FG), 11 rebounds and 3 blocks. In 2012-13, Orion had pre-draft workouts with the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons. Orion later signed with Aris Club in Greece, but was forced to move to AEL Club in Cyprus, because of the clubs FIBA clearance issues. In Cyprus, Orion was named MVP of the All-star game, while averaging 16.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. In 2013-2014, The Santa Cruz Warriors drafted Orion in the third round of the NBA Development League Draft, where he averaged 4.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game. His best game of the season came against Reno, when he had 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. After the season, Orion was claimed by The Sioux Falls Skyforce, the NBA Development League affiliate of the Miami Heat. In 2014-15, Orion returned to Veterans Camp with the Sioux Falls Skyforce. In 2015-16, Orion signed with Tarragona Club in Spain, where he averaged 17.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals, 1.1 blocks & 1.0 assist in 29.7 minutes, while shooting 51.4% from 2, 35.7% from 3 & 76.4% from the FT line.
